The final design uses a gray background with black and white elements to give a modern feel to the poster. Varying shades of red are used to represent the passion and violence associated with the play. A subtle slab-serif style font was used to support the contemporary theme, contrast the bold sans-serif of the name of the play, support legibility, and compliment the use of geometric shapes.
During the sketching phase, I chose bold geometric shapes to create a modern, contemporary mood. The positioning of the triangles is used to draw the eye down the page.
