MOSQUITO - Elegant Plywood Chair

Mosquito is the result of a reflexion relating to the humanism and the autonomy of the piece of furniture. A first gesture towards the `not furniture’. The answer takes to the form an alive being. A chair autonomous, obvious, readily agreeing to play the part of comfortable chair. The Mosquito chair is carried out starting from one only bent timber sheet. It is stackable in two ways, pragmatic or graphic.
We like these elegant plywood chairs by Belgium designer Michael Bihain, the Mosquito chairs. Simple and balanced designs made out of Multiplex plywood which is basically veneer sheets of Birch or Beech wood. As suggested by Bihain, they do look like living things: "The chair Mosquito is the result of a thought about the furniture humanism and autonomy. .. A first step towards the "no furniture". The answer takes the form of a living being; an independent, obvious chair which gladly lends itself to play the role of a comfortable seat."
Finish/material: White, black or blanched oak curved plywood.
