ABOUT PROJECT:

The client asked that a flyer is created to advertise on social media. The party included sponsorship from many businesses in the Columbus area. I analyzed what the competitors were doing with their flyers for the other Icebreaker parties and noticed that were using more sexualized images of cheerleaders to showcase their events. In order to provide a differentiation factor, I decided a more humorous and friendly approach was necessary. I highlighted the sport's team mascot with an ice bucket to play on the name of the event. By treating the flyer in this manner it made the flyer stand out amongst the competitors while also staying true to the OSU Buckeye brand by not oversexualizing their cheerleaders.

The flyer was created solely for social media distribution to create a social buzz. The flyer showcased is not print ready but can be made to be print ready if the client requested to do so. Through the audience's want to share a flyer that was more G-rated on their social media pages this flyer helped with those efforts and helped the event to sell out in a popular nightclub in Columbus, Ohio. The event name and the flyer took all the characteristics of the event name and applied it to the flyer. The use of images was chosen in a respectful manner to ensure that the OSU Buckeye's name was represented tastefully.
