Lindberg initially issued this kit in 1958 as the U.S. Moon Ship. It was reissued in 1969 as the Landing Module as part of the "Mars Probe" series, and again in 1976 as the Space Shuttle as part of the "Star Probe" series. Glencoe Models also issued this kit as the Lunar Lander (#05003). Box lists this styrene kit as 1/96 scale. Rick Polizzi lists the scale as 1/70 in his book, "Classic Plastic: Model Kits Identification & Value Guide".
