Asia River of Faith is a documentary on river Ganges, a trans-continental river that originates in India.Ganges is the lifeline of India. The Trans-Asia river crosses from India to Bangladesh and empties itself in the bay of Bengal. The Indo-Gagnetic plane is the most fertile plane in the world. The river is reverred by Indians as a goddess. The film takes you on a journey from the origin of the river to its religious significance and the challenges that the river faces in the modern day India. By talking to various stakeholders ranging from holy men to environmentalists, the film poses questions on the future of the river.
The film has been shot and edited by Tahir Ahmed and has been directed by Syed Nazakat Hussain, director of Centre for Investigative Journalism, India.
