Public Site Responsive Design

One of PixelMill's closest partners, Kiefer Consulting, came to us to help them rebrand their 2015 Public facing site. The site was built on SharePoint 2013 and an accelerator framework co-developed by both teams, Kiefer Consulting and PixelMill Inc together. The clients wanted something that was metropolitan, modern but corporate. The results was a successful mixture of the trending banded look, bold imagery with paralax and enterprise focused content.

Work:
The first steps was to find out more about the vision and mood the company was looking to portray in their public site. The Project Manager/UX Strategist and Marekting Manger of PixelMill talked in person with the clients, and walked an expo hall floor to really understand what they liked, what they didn't like, what seemed to best represent them as a company. From those conversations, we were able to pinpoint the mood, imagery, typography and even type of iconography to be used on the site.

Next, the PixelMill design team worked on wireframes, based on the co-developed acelerator framework and the content for the site. These prototypes took into account the responsive design of the site and user journetys for the site, especially in regards to the call to actions on each page. Next high-fidelity mockups were created for all devices sizes and pages. This helped us to make sure that the user experience was consistent and no matter the device, the site would be accessible and easy to use.

Lastly, the PixelMill development team implmented the updated responsive desig. The project was completed and went live early in 2016.

The use of client logos and hover interactions help highlight the depth and variety of their work on the homepage.

Search on mobile with the same feel, look and iteraction as is found on the full-sized desktop. Consistent responsive design and user experience was important for the site.
Large chunky footer that not only gave quick links within the site, location of the business, contact information, and social media links, but also emphasized the collaborative work done with global partners.
