Do.com - Social Productivity

Do.com
Role: Design Director / Lead Designer
Do.com was designed from the ground-up to be a social productivity tool. This project began as an acquisition of a product called Manymoon.

Goal - Improve usability and increase user retention by:

Shortly after launch of the new product, 7 day returning users had increased 10x.
The Do product was delivered to PCs, tablets and the iPhone simultaneously. Making the product available everywhere was critical to increasing adoption. A native iPhone app allowed us to send push notifications to users, driving them back into the application to keep conversations going.
Project Home
The Do Web UI was designed to accommodate both the desktop and the tablet. The layout was optimized to rapidly work across your tasks list without losing context. User photos were placed liberally throughout the interface so that it is always clear who you are working with and to encourage conversation.
Task Inspector
A conversational tone in the UI was meant to make the app feel more friendly and to encourage discussion. In this example, you can see that the assignment of a task is treated as a question from one user to another. Likewise, the buttons for response use friendly, human language.
