Unloch Japanese & Scottish Whisky

Unloch Whisky is the solution to my concept for a unique amalgamation of both Scottish and Japanese whiskies. I aimed to hold onto the essence of both cultures throughout the design, although at first glance it may come across more Japanese than Scottish. However I feel it is well balanced and the use of diamonds throughout the labels allow it to flow, relating them to Scotland and japan as both countries make good use of diamond shapes in their decretive elements. Also by having a literal fusion with the logo it conveys the goals of a pure solution to their whisky that being the blended malt whisky.

Creating the pattern for the design took a fair amount of time, seven hours in total was spent on the laser cutter but in the end was all worth it. The box of whisky is equally important, the richness of the red shows through the royal blue stock paper bringing the strongest connection of flow to the two countries most associated colours, the circle for the rising sun and the x for the saltire.

while shooting the images alongside most other whiskies I could easily see Unloch being sold for what it is. It represents a unique product and allows itself to stand out amongst other whiskey brands. The use of material for the end design looks natural and not forced for the sake of it like other branding companies.
