Initial design for the character.

I decided to redesign him, starting by figuring out his proportions.

After deciding on his proportions and head shape, I played around with a few different costume ideas. 

After I settled on a costume, I experimented with color. Since he would be fighting bears and wearing their pelts, he would consist of several shades of brown. I wanted to use realistic fur colors but also wanted to have a lot of contrast for visual interest.

I settled on the darker colors which I felt best represented the character.
