I have recently been commissioned to draw a Phoenix bird for a tattoo. Once we decided on the placement of it in the body I created this initial sketch.

I would normally work on a final pencil draft and then ink it, but this time I am starting to ink quite early stages so I can see how the contrast of the black and white works

I finished the drawing for the Phoenix, now it will be interesting to see how it translates into the tattoo
