About three months ago I made two drawings for a magazine that needed some visuals for the cover. One for the front, and one for the back. The magazine went with another design (congratulations to the artist behind the chosen design) but that doesn't stop me from posting it here.
It was a philosophy magazine and in that issue, the main theme was “identity”.
I tried to make something that made a connection between the front and the back cover. The idea was that we all have two identities. One inner and one outer. One is on the outside looking in, and the other is on the inside looking out. The main composition of the two drawings is identical down to a millimeter, as the two figures is looking through the exact same window.
At least that was the idea. I’m not sure how well it works.
Just for myself it was also an attempt to make a hole through the whole magazine.
I like how the front cover turned out (the "outside" picture), but I’m not so sure about the back cover.
