Woodcut
Personal project

My friend Juanito is grandson to a wood craver, and inherited set of  tools for craving. We decided to combine his skills with wood + my (dis)abilities and knowledges in graphism. After different ideas and few sketches we landed on a Charles Bukowski poem, but decided we should start with a simpler design first.
A fragment of Charles Bukowski's poem. Lots of cuts and curves so we decided to postpone this one until we get more skilled.
Re-drawing the acorn shield
The shield was taking form
Juanito taking care of the fine details
The grand prize, will be printing soon
Wood texture + lack of a decent-sized roller + extra fast dry ink
Still have to work on registration, but overall we were satisfied 100% for being the first time
