This is my entry for the 2012 D&AD illustration brief which was set by Little White Lies Magazine. The brief asked for a portrait of the leading character from a shortlist of their top films of 2011. These films were; Tinker, Tailor Soldier, Spy; Black Swan; Drive; The Tree of Life and Super 8.
I chose Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy whose main character was George Smiley as portrayed by Gary Oldman. As the film is a spy thriller I placed the portrait of Oldman peeking through some blinds to evoke the sense of spying which is integral to the plot.
