Background
Opera til Folket, offers three concepts: Torsdagsopera på Pigalle, Public Ung and Oslo Opera Festival. Publik young is a collaboration with several other players in classical music, and aims to increase interest in the classical heritage among young people. Oslo Opera Festival is held yearly in October and will nurture opera by focusing on innovation in the performing arts.
Challenge
Some may see opera as a somewhat dusty and refined music genre for older people.Opera til Folket came to us with a desire for a new image consisting of a visual profile with a new logo and an opportunity to visualize their organization concepts. The purpose of the new branding was to reach a younger audience. They also wanted a set of templates that gave them the freedom to update content on their own.
Solution
We chose to focus on the core of the organization’s activities: Making opera more accessible to younger people. We were left with the values popular, young but lived. We ended up with a concept based on the opera song’s powerful, yet soft and vibrant character. Opera is what it is and can have a strong hypnotic effect. We chose to highlight this experience the visual solution.
