Imperial College London was formed in July 1907 through the signing of a charter which drew together three nineteenth century institutions. Since its creation, Imperial has grown to become one of the top universities in the world. The Centenary of the founding of the College in 2007 marked a major milestone in the College’s history as Imperial gained independence from the University of London to become a university in its own right. The Centenary celebrations ran from 30 January 2007 until 14 December 2007.
A set of promotional tools were developed to accompany the events programme to drive awareness of the Centenary and associated campaign, including booklets, posters, postcards, publications, pull-up banners, stickers, large format building banners, etc. A full range of Centenary merchandise was produced including gifts, branded stationery, clothing, a Centenary wine (10,000 bottles of which were sold) and a Centenary ale (15,000 pints of which were pulled!).
