Hospice is a place that offers a palliative care for people who are having the terminally illness. Hospice is usually a design-free zone, it usually the choose between either health care or design although endless researches show that both affect patients. Hospice it typically built similarly with the hospital layout. These kinds of conditions will affect patient to lose their confident to live and in the end, they will become more and more depressed. This design thinking is a result of the studies and application ofthe informations about human psychology of how the mentality of human reacts about certain things around them to the hospice design to make a therapeutical space. Practicing biomimicry in the hospice design has a purpose to not only provide sustainability within the space, but also to symbolize life. The concept are derived from the chlorophyll because their abilities to maintain every single life in this planet.
THE SITE
This building has the dimension of 80 meters long, 27 meters on the side, and 9 meters width. The nearest MRT is 10 minutes walk from Novena MRT and located on top of the hill. This site provides quiet ambience, wide space, easy accessibility, and surrounded by many healthcare institution such as new Tan Tock Seng Hospital which is only across the road. With those aspects, this site is considered as a potential site for hospice design.
