"The Art of Cycling" As the Head Photographer of the social cycling organization, that is Fondo Manila, it is essential for me as an artist to bring out the real emotions and experiences of the warriors in two wheels by capturing them in a photo. In the four (4) years that I have been doing this craft together with the rest of the team, I have made a formula that mixes art, athletics and adventure. I call this Human Drama Photography. In "The Art of Cycling", I dig deeper on two main components of social cycling: within and without. Though it is always important to capture stills of the cyclists while they are perspiring their way through long-distance biking (the basic tenet of event coverage), capturing the photos of the cyclists at rest while enjoying the scenic highways and picturesque landscapes comes equally important to human drama photography. Combining the two aspects of social cycling creates a narrative that weaves stories of the cyclists' dreams, aspirations, struggles, adventures, mishaps and motivations that eventually lead them into loving the sport.
