SNHU GRA 340 Magazine Project

This is a mock cover for a imaginary magazine that was the final project for GRA340 at SNHU with Jocelyn Foye. The cover was deisgned with a foil material in the paper so the triangles would reflect slightly in the light. To simulate this effect in a diigital copy I varied the shades of white and grey and varied the degrees of opacity in the triangles. The typography is used to denote a casual yet professional feel to the magazine. The serifed typeface for the magazine title was used to connoate a nostagilc feel to earlier times in film, while the sans seriffed typeface used for the rest of the text on the cover was used to reflect the modern content of the magazine.

This is a mock up of the table of contents for the imaginary magazine. The magazine is about films adapted from books and literature. The contents page was designed to communicate that concept by incorporating both images suggesting both film and books. This concept is meant to appeal to both book readers and movie goers alike. The sans serifed typeface, along with triangular design communicate the modern take on the magazine.
The feature spread incorporates the same color scheme, typfaces, and design (triangles) as the cover and contents page to create unity throughout the different magazine features. To create diversity in the feature spread and set it apart from the cover and contents page, the first words of the article title are set in a messier, handwritten typeface. Not only does this communicate the main message of Tim Burton and his style but also contrasts with the sans serifed and serifed typefaces used throughout the magazine.
