How many of us actually engage with the Constitution?

 

Recognising the unique relationship of indigenous communities to their lands, the Fifth Schedule of India's Constitution contains special protections around Adivasi land, and respect for their self-governance. Too often, however, the decisions of Adivasi village assemblies are ignored by state governments, because of the profits that stand to be made from their lands.
