L-MODULAR
L-modular was built to be a timely urban intervention that stimulates spontaneous play and interaction. This playful installation transforms a currently under-utilised space into a well-loved precinct in Compassvale Boardwalk. Depending on the needs of the user, L-modular can be used as a place for seating, lying down, as a table or a place of relaxation. The first three set of units were tested in Compassvale Boardwalk precinct. Throughout user testing, it was apparent that the interchangeable nature of the furniture design was of great advantage in the urban application. The L-shaped pieces provided the undefined random component; couples were seen to be rearranging their seats and even building small stairs by themselves.
