Project in the second year of study in 3D Design at Manchester School of Art. Close-up image of tri-layered Whitworth Skeleton prototype light shade. The detail was laser cut from card, the imagery is based on an aerial map of the Whitworth Art Gallery and Grounds. Chosen as one of the final six designs to be sold within the Gallery shop.
The brief was set to relate to the newly-refurbished Whitworth Gallery ethos: Playful, Intelligent & Personal. This light shade was made up of separate layers whch allowed for customisation, as well as an accessible flat-pack product.
Polyproylene version of the skeletons based on leaf skeletons found within the Whitworth Art Gallery Grounds.
