Introduction

The objecctive of this project is to create a story that details about how I got into my creative journey. I answered some of the questions listed from the past, present, and future of what happen to us that got us to this point in pur lives and what awaits in the future. The second part of this project is to create another story of our own that could be personal or something intriguing that happened in our lives.

Methods/Process
I wrote a bit of a rough outline that would give me the general idea of answering the questions given for the "Story About What I Do" on the computer. I practiced by rerecording my dialogue until I got the hang of talking naturally as if i were having a conversation with someone rather than reading a script. The same process occurs for the "Story of my Choosing", but without the questions and my own rough outline of it too looking back through old photographs to remind myself of what I used to be like back then.

I uploaded pictures to my creative cloud account from the internet and also some photographs or pictures that I took to help explain the narration visually. I also added text for certain categories of what I am about to explain before hand.
Once I finished a story I share it to my facebook account and click on the link that sends me to https://voice.adobe.com and click on the embed option on the bottom right to copy & paste to my behance project on the desktop.
On the left side with the black bar column with white text I clicked on Embed Media to copy & paste the link and the video uploaded afterwards
Story of What I Do:

Past:
1, Hi this is Ritcher Nguyen, and this is my story

Who/What were your earliest creative influences and why were they so important to you?
2. As a kid I was influenced by cartoons specifically anime like Naruto, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, and other shows from Cartoon Network, especially with the rain.

Who/What stood in the way of your creativity and how did you prevail against them/it?
3. What stopped me from my creativity was my parents saying that I need a job that makes good money and be financially stable. I asked someone about it and they said I should do what I want not what someone tells you should. After being inspired by others who were the same, I wanted to have the guts to never give up which made me wanted to have a strong will.

Which singular event in your past most affected your decision to pursue your area of interest?
4. What really got to me to pursue art is when I ended up taking art again sometime in Grade 11 and 12, drawing and teacher said I had some skill in it that I felt proud of and inspired me to make more of them one day.
Who influenced or assisted you in pursuing your career ambitions, interests, or skill in this area?
5. I was assisted by my high school art teacher who taught me a bit of drawing techniques that has helped me in making artwork.

Present:
How have your interests affected your life as a whole (family, friends, where you live)?
1. Me pursuing art has affected those around me to see that I am taking a risk in art and wonder if I will be able to make a good living.
How would you sum up your creative, artistic or design philosophy (ie. what is the role of creativity in your own life and in the life of humanity in general?
2. A role of my creativity is making drawings specifically people and ads
How has your time at school challenged you creatively?
3. In school I feel tense and it gives me a hard time to come up with creative ideas in a limited amount of time
Share a time when you enjoyed an epic win in an assignment at school and explain its importance.
4. I had a good win when I created my logo, along with a business card, envelope, and letterhead that brands me and my identity.
5. When I came to George Brown I messed up on the Line and Value assignment proving that I needed to improve more on my outlines and shading.
What has been the biggest highlight in the current pursuit of your interests?
6.  I feel really proud of my self portrait that I made using ink.

Future:
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
1.     I am not sure but I hope to see myself in being a Graphic Designer or an Illustrator
What are your next steps after finishing the foundation program?
2.     I’ll probably apply for the Graphic Design program when I am finished the foundation program
What advice would you give to someone considering entering a program aimed at a career in a creative field?
3.     Don’t rush into it and explore on what you may like or hate and ask about what takes to get into that career.

Overcoming A Struggle:

As a kid ever since kindergarten since four I felt different from the others and later on I got sent into a special Eds class after finishing it.

Realized
I learned later on that time that I had a learning disability. Since later on I realized that the methods of teaching were different from the regular classes and with certain rules. I felt like I was behind other kids in terms of understanding what was going on as if my mind was at a slower pace or at a standstill while others moved forward. I had troubles in communicating properly or thinking on what to say to others was a problem for me.

Difference Is a New Hope
Over the years I learned from my teachers that even though it was harder for me to learn it was okay, because everyone had their own strengths and weakness and that it is best to flow in your own pace. Years later on I was in my senior year during high school I watched "Naruto" that continued further. I got inspired by a character named “Itachi Uchiha”. I felt related to him because he was quiet and did not talk as much, however not from a disability, but what got to me was that he learned a lot from observing and listening from his surroundings to be more perceptive and learn more of the world around me. I felt more related to him because he questioned his purpose in life and whether it had meaning for him and with me I wondered if i was going to be helpful or a burden to others because I was different from them.
This started at the age of 5 when he witnessed people dying for the first time during the Third Great Ninja War because his father wanted him to witness reality so that he would mature quickly. At the end of the war during a funeral he saw an overheard a man saying "grieving over the death is meaningless" and that if there was meaning to it is to take advantage of it. He confronted the man named Orochimaru asking what is the meaning of life, but he said "there is none" unless if it were eternal due to the conflict occuring in their world which was those moments that he started questioning it.

What I learned
My advice is just because you might be different from others that does not mean you can make it great and do not let stuff like that bother you it is your choice to decide who you want to be. Thanks for listening

Conclusion:

This project was a great learning experience for me in terms of storytelling through dialogue that gets you into the moment instead of just reading of a script, but iin a more casual tone. I learned how to record my narrative with Adobe Voice on the IPAD with also adding pictures to help support my stories visually as well. What made this difficult in performing this task was having to speak out loud when recording with having a bit of insecurity of how I sound, with also figuring how to speak about it without reading a script. The only way for me to get into it was practicing till I got it right and stay strong especially when it came to telling personal stories that made a huge impact in my life. If I could change anything it would be to be in a quieter place to record my narrative without the disruption sounds in the background when I am recording, but my own voice. I also want to learn to have more confidence in the way I speak so that people can be more engaged in what I am saying. The lesson in this project is always make sure of what you are going to say and do not be afraid to talk about what you believe in because those kinds of stories could be one of the most exciting topics that can make a difference.
