This is a video promotion that is designed for the largest annual contemporary music festival in China, the Midi Music Festival. It was one of the assignments during a motion class I have taken at SCAD.

This is a video promotion that is designed for the largest annual contemporary music festival in China, the Midi Music Festival. It was one of the assignments during a motion class I have taken at SCAD.
The visual concept, ink drop, was chosen as the most appropriate element to represent China.
There is much contrast going through the video: the slow movement of the ink drop and the heavy electronic background music; the organic shape of the ink drop and the linear and geometric typeface, as well as the splitting screen which shows Chinese and foreign bands' names.
I was trying to promote this big local event from a different angle that not only shows Chinese characteristics but also presents how China embraces the world with its contemporary music.
