SOLUTION
Prior to making any creative decisions, it was important to discover what traits exist in a timeless and versatile typeface. After extensive research, Gotham proved to be an appropriate typeface for the foundation of Anthro. Existing slab-serif typefaces, like Sentinel and Clarendon, were referenced when adding the serifs.
Its name comes from the prefix anthro- which means to have human qualities. In the same way that the human anatomy is consistent between individuals, Anthro’s basic structure gives a sense of familiarity and unity. Anthro is functional in multiple facets while simultaneously communicating the altruism and honesty that should exist within each of us.
