The Brief
Tea has been consumed and traded around the world for thousands of years and over the last 400, it is now one of the UK’s favourite drinks. Like many nations, products (and the rituals around them) play a large part in defining a country’s identity and tea in Britain is no exception.

You are required to name, brand and design the packaging for a range of 4 teas.

The Problem
Tea is drank differently all over Britain alone, in a global context the variety of ways to enjoy the drink is endless. Britain is a multicultural country with influences and heritage from around the world. How do we celebrate a 'quintessentially British' product that isn't actually just British?
The Solution
As tea has a presence in almost every culture, it is the perfect symbol of Britain. Sama-Tea is a range of teas combining different blends from around the globe with classic British flavours. The packagaging fuses patterns and motifs from Britain with those from around the world to represent the unification of culture.

The range consists of a Rose Garden Oolong, a Chinese Oolong tea infused with British rose petals.

Winter Berry Sencha, a Japanese green Sencha tea infused with British cranberries, blackberries and nettle.

Kenyan Earl Tea, Kenyan black tea with infused with bergamot oil and ginger.

Assam Afternoon Tea, Assam tea from India infused with British strawberries and vanilla.
The brand is promoted through an instagram campaign, #showusyourculture. Everyone is invited to post an image on instagram of something that they feel reflects their culture, selected images will be put on the ‘Sama Tea’ instagram page and free packs of tea sent to the entrants. The winning images will inspire the next ‘Sama Tea’ flavour and pattern.
