Fleetwood Fixtures
Creative Design Internship - 2015
In the summer of 2015 (May - August), I worked in the Design Build Studio at Fleetwood Fixtures and developed projects in all stages from concept to completion in the fast paced environment of retail design. The projects encompassed designing retail product displays, retail fixtures, and store interiors for multiple companies across the U.S. All work presented on the following three pages was designed or created by Samuel Pawlak and is the sole property of Fleetwood Fixtures.
Working at Fleetwood allowed me to experience and design/build for every step of the design process from concept sketch to fully detailed design intent drawings. One of the first steps in the design process was the concept development phase. Below are select concept development renderings of fixtures for multiple companies.
A more detailed step in the design process was creating what were called concept design intent drawings. These are presentations which go into greater detail than concept development drawings and give proper insights into exactly how a concept can be brought into reality by putting things like materials, general assembly, and cost into perspective for the clients - Work below.
One of the final steps in the design process was creating a full design intent drawing that detailed exactly how a fixture would be assembled. These drawings would be sent between the engineering and design build department until a final assembly plan was determined - Work below.
