Alternative to the map: the river Nile as a desk in the middle of the room
The "double Nile": the 3D platform represents the theme of room 1, the World of the Living, and therefore the real Nile; the shadow underneath it reveals the second room's theme, the Underworld
The "double Nile" in room 2 is the other way around: a 3D platform is decorated with the motif "waterline", typical of the Underworld representation and the shadow underneath it remembers of the previous, real, Nile
"Upper and Under Nile": a 3D platform in room 1, same concept as before, but in combination with the following image
"Upper and Under Nile": the river is here in room 2 represented by a transparent, excavated runway with the "waterline" decoration
A further idea for room 2: an unworldly, transparent structure symbolizes the river Nile in the Underworld
A further idea for room 2: hung fabrics with the "waterline" motif symbolize the river Nile in the Underworld
Another idea for the timeline: a cupboard with shelves can help the visitors visualize finds connected to the main epochs
