Orbital Lamp
 Design and packaging
A sheet of laser-cut 0.4mm plywood held in tension inside a glass vessel.

This product grew out of the union between glass and wood, contrasting cool with warmth, stiffness with flexibility. When lit, it produces a warm red light that contrasts with the calm understatement of its unlit state.

The unusual shape of the flattened plywood informed the design of its box, which had to accomodate the fragile glass tube floating within as well as the angular diamond of the shade and instructions.
