THE CONTEXT :
Aha Science (An initiative of Learning.com) in Partnership with Educomp Pvt. Ltd. was developing solutions for their online K-12 Learning products. They wanted content that was lively, engaging and informative at the same time. This included teaching really young children complex subjects such as Refraction, Electromagnetic Radiation, Moh's MInerals Table, Cloud Identification, Complex Chemical Reactions etc.
MY ROLE:
As the primary Instructional Designer and the project manager on the project, I was in charge of User Research (which involved heavy collaboration with the Subject Matter Expert in Question), Scripting, Storyboarding, Visualizing and collaborating with a team of talented Graphic Designers and Programmers to create the final output.
THE PROCESS :
As developers for a product like this we had to constantly be aware of what else was available online, so that we could set our product apart and generate something new and exciting. We had to be wary of the time limit and the amount of complex content we could squish into that time slot without compromising on the rate of content absorption from the user perspective.
THE OUTPUT :
I was involved with designing, developing and delivering more than 40 such bite-sized K-12 eLearning modules and interactive science games, a sample of which has been depicted below. The work was met with very positive feedback and back-end analytics has seen a rise in the number of users absorbing the content.
