Design to Sell was the first project of the second year. We had to get into business groups and raise at least £100 between us to pay for materials for products. At first, I thought about doing portrait photography but after some experimenting I decided against it. I started experimenting with watercolours and geometric animal designs. I thought these would appeal to a lot of people and might sell well. I started doing a lot of designs to see what ones I wanted to use in my products.
When I did all the designs I could, I experimented more by photocopying the images and inverted the colours. I liked the way the black outline inverted looked like neon lights and I loved the effect.

I decided on 6 final designs, I did three animal designs then three anime designs. I decided with an owl, unicorn and stag and for the anime ones I did No Face from Spirited Away, Totoro from My Neighbour Totoro and The Collosol Titan from Attack on Titan. I did one of each design in black frames, one of each in white card frames and two of each as postcards.
This is my work displayed in the pop up shop. They weren't that successful in selling, two of the black framed ones and one card framed one sold. However, I did sell some extra ones that I didn't put in the pop up shop to some friends and family.
