A project done in school, having the theme of refurbishing and partially converting a building from 1902, located in the city of Aarhus, Denmark. The overall basis of the proposal was to refurbish the existing construction and to create an extension of maximum 20m2 which would contain new bathrooms and kitchens for each dwelling. The extension had to be made as a steel construction with a light weight facade cladding. Also, the top-level apartments were converted into one penthouse apartment. The main accesibility demands were to install an elevator and create access for disabled people throughout the building.
The building design part of the project was done in co-operation with two group members, whilst the building implementation phase was chosen by me as a specialisation for this semester.
