The Kleida is a visual and audio design project that expresses the beauty of uniqueness and embraces differences without understanding. This project is inspired by my experience of being in a mixed culture. I find it hard to identify my identity. But as I explore the idea, I realize that being evolved from a mix of cultures makes me the person I am today. I realized that I did not need to adhere to any specific root to define my identity and rather embrace it.
The kaleidoscope is used as a reference to the visual of this project, as it turns into a new pattern every time it changes, expressing the idea of beauty and uniqueness. The audio starts with the word “unique” in three languages (Thai, Japanese, Chinese), and the same with the visual. Before being deconstructed and reconstructed into a new alienated sound that doesn’t have any meaning.
