Each year I am tasked with the project of direction a Black History Month section published by a top tier newspaper in Richmond, Virginia. My process begins with a phone call with a direct line to the former director of Black History Museum of Richmond. We start our conversation with who was one of the most inspiriational African-American figures of history, past and present? I leave with new outlook and inspiration to help me design a piece that will engage the reader.
