Fencyre, the Forgotten World

Fencyre, the Forgotten World
Fencyre was a story I wrote when I was in middle school and published in high school. Its a story based on a young girl that struggles with her parents never being there, a bully at school, an out-of-her-league crush, teachers, and so much of life that starts to weigh down on her until she finds out who she really is. Everything changes and she finds herself a lost heir to another world, another time, in the middle of the greatest war ever fought. She is destined to rule through this unbelievable peril, if only she can survive the forgotten world of Fencyre and destroy the only thing she loves.

You can see it here (read the reviews! :) or buy it!

Design-wise, I redid the cover in college because I always had wanted to and because I was selected for a research grant. The grant was about researching the combination of digital and traditional art to create an original piece for digital artists. With this illustration I used Coral Painter 11, printed and hand stretched it on canvas, varnished it and painted over it with oils to add that traditional effect.

Later I was able to take the illustration into Indesign, measuring the exact sizes of the book cover and the proper formatting of the text and layout and create a spread that is much better on the book!
