A recent identity redesign for international architects practice EllisWilliams. The brief was to create a memorable identity that reflects their ethos of ‘relevant, contextual creativity’. The identity I designed uses blocks of pattern, taken from mechanical drawing conventions that denote various building materials such as steel, concrete and wood. These patterns form a flexible identity that is striking, and inextricably linked to the process of building design – the idea being that the process of getting to the perfect fit-for-purpose building is the most important facet of EllisWilliams’s approach.
