AT THE GROVE HOTEL
Our central location in downtown Boise has been our most powerful competitive advantage as a hotel. When I took on the role as Marketing Manager, I wondered why we weren't selling ourselves as a venue with the same confidence.
The Grove Hotel is the perfect venue for brides- and grooms-to-be who desire a destination wedding without the pricey plane tickets. We have a beautiful outdoor terrace, an in-house wedding coordinator, affordable group rates, and incredibly versatile catering (with premium ingredients to boot). We simply couldn't justify such a massive void in our marketing efforts.
I reached out to every wedding photographer we've had on-site. I reserved booths in every local wedding trade show. I wrangled the Sales Managers to mention our wedding services whenever they could. My goal was to go from booking 5-7 weddings each year to procuring a wedding event (reception, ceremony, rehearsal dinner, or at least a room block) each weekend from April to October.

Email Marketing
Each year, we collected hundreds (if not thousands) of email addresses from tradeshows, vendor partnerships, and RFPs...and didn't use them at all. Pretty embarassing.
Each year, we collected hundreds (if not thousands) of email addresses from tradeshows, vendor partnerships, and RFPs...and didn't use them at all. Pretty embarassing.
I designed simple image headers and consolidated our best photos to be used for email campaigns and made our Marketing Intern responsible for writing copy. Below is one of five campaigns, which was sent to brides with wedding dates 6+ months out with no venue chosen yet.
