Genius Loci
'Genius loci' is understood to have been the 'spirit of a place' in Roman mythology.

For my response to this brief, I chose a cemetery on Alresford Road in Winchester as my location.
A mysterious plot of land, set away from the hustle and bustle of the City Centre, there is no church to give any explanation as to its origin.
I wanted to get some idea of who was buried there and how old the graves are, incorporating a sense of history and time into my work.

Making the composition more relevant to the specific layout of the cemetery.
Different colour, representing the growing moss over time. More of an infographic feel.
Edited text and composition, relevant to the A5 side bound format.
Laser cut poster design for the exhibition by Graphic Arts lecturer Danny Aldred.
The finished design, screw bound and in situ at the Interim show.
