In this project, I did some research about penguin book, then I made some book covers respectively in photograph, materials and digutal method. In photograph part, I did researches in real prison. Then, in materials part, I try to do many funny experiments, Such as use glass to make a new typeface, use paper to make typeface for book cover. Also I used wire to make my book cover because the part two of the story was happend in prison, wire can explain the prison.
I did research in Lv Shun prison. I think the prison is really important for this novel. All part two were happened in priaon. Then I photograghed this picture. I think the light throgh the window with shandow is interesting. Also, the long prespactive gives me a special visaul. This picture is symmetrical.
I used paperboard to make font. Two paper insert each other.
I use the simple point to explain Meursault and others.
I like the hole in this picture, I think different size and no order in this picture gives me an special feeling.

This is the develope of my material work. I try a lot about this idea, such as the point position, the size of point, the tools to use or the materials.
At first, I used scissors to jab the white paper, but it’s too simple for a book cover. Then, I try to use the tissue to instead of paper. Because tissue’ texture is interesting, More details in tissues, such as different light, shandows and colors.
