This capsule collection is inspired by minimalism and murder. My best friend Kasandra Torres was working as a forensic photographer and took the photograph of the beaker and blood and I really loved the sleekness and translucency of the beaker along with the warm and confusing colors. By confusing I mean that the colors are generally thought to bring a sense of warmth yet in this photograph they give an eery and uncomfortable feeling. I was also inspired by the film American Psycho and redesigned the raincoat Patrick Bateman wears to slaughter Paul Allen (played by Jared Leto), one of my favorite scenes of all time. I chose to focus on plastic, leather, linen, and light wools and cotton shirtings for Spring and dye them with splatters to emulate blood. The aesthetics are more European and quite avant-garde and androgynous.
