TRAILHEAD is a typographical solution for unclear or illegible wayfinding and signage on the Appalachian Trail.
The Appalachian trail is home to thousands of signs and trailheads, all of which are vastly different. To solidify and create continuity throughout the many miles of trails, TRAILHEAD looks to the surrounding environments for inspiration. By mixing nature and craft together to form a unified typeface, TRAILHEAD serves both sign-makers and hikers: it is easily carved on any sign and can be effectively read from comfortable distances on the trails.
