When we were briefed to promote the newly converted Asda Northampton Thornton store to students at the nearby Northampton University, we knew we needed a different approach. The standard Asda corporate tone and look and feel wouldn't have impact in a vibrant student union that acts as a diner through the day and a bar at night. The Asda store had been converted from an old Netto, and now sells grocery essentials, plus George and homeware offerings. Tables within the student union were utilised, with eye-catching table wraps created. The wraps featured student essentials such as beer and cider, pizza and pasta, quirkily photographed looking half drunk or half eaten. Table tops feature QR codes which take students to the store locator page.
