SOAPSTIX, 2010 Pack Expo Grand Prize

SOAPSTIX  TM_ The Consumer Experience, Grand Prize Winner
ROBRADY Design collaborates with Bailey Brand Consulting to fabricate prototypes of the Soapstix concept for the 2010 Pack Expo.
The Bailey group needed a series of prototypes on a very tight deadline, the concept was recycled paper packaging that would hold a variety of concentrate soaps and detergents as refills and replacements to bottles at home.  We created a series of handmade recycled paper packages with CNC milled plugs, faux Soapstix were cast in an elastomeric urethane.
Stix were cast in a low durometer elastomeric tinted urethane to mimic the desired concept.
Molds were used to laminate the "recycled paper" exterior packaging, the faux stix helped to ensure fit and and material thickness.
A plug was used to press the paper into the molded shape, once transferred to the plug the paper was set to dry.
The exterior package trimmed and ready for assembly.
The final product; two molded paper packages, six Soapstix, and a graphic band created the Grand Prize winner.  This was a fun project and a great concept, it was set for an award from the start.  Congratulations to the Bailey Group.
