Sunday mornings are for experimenting and creating something just for you. Taking influence from geometric style of Matt W. Moore and others. See below:
Set up the layout
Used Adobe Kuler to select a color palette called "Herbs and Spices." Applied the colors to the layout.
Align the squares, and scale them down for the complete layout. Not as easy and way more time consuming than it looks.
Began to apply more colors.
Applying colors is the most time-consuming part of the work. The striving for consistency across colors is always challenging.
Took this piece and moved it from Illustrator to Photoshop.
Dug through my photos for a grungy, stony texture. This is from Chimney Bluffs in NY.
Found the right balance of blending and applied a light vignette for the final product.
