Public Radio International (PRI)

After years spent in a dark tough-to-navigatedonut-shaped space with poor acoustics, uncontrollable HVAC and very littlenatural light, Public Radio International had a laundry list of wants, needs, and overall design goals for their new space in Minneapolis’ historic TextileBuilding. The resulting design embracesthe inherent beauty and aged palette inherent to the building, with its brickwalls, timber structure, wood flooring and historic patina, while infusing itwith light, and space for collaboration. The design program, with its inherentflexibility, stimulates creativity and innovation through customizableworkspaces, flexible meeting areas and room for all of the bells-and-whistlesthat come with headquarters of a global media content creator – From thein-house recording studio, interactive media walls, and state-of-the-artboardroom to the comfortable café with full kitchen and cozy tucked-awaylounge.
