Compound Woven Structures

Woven double cloth exploring colour interactions.
Face: A myriad of colours; Back: Monochrome

Woven Shibori on double cloth. Face: Thick cotton; Back: Fine cotton
In traditional Shibori, rows of stitches are sewn by hand onto cloth, gathered and tied, then dipped in dye to produce the tie-dyed effect.
Here, these ‘stitches’ have been woven onto cloth while on the loom as supplementary weft threads.
A glimpse of complex woven structures woven on the dobby loom:
Quilt, Back Cloth, Imitation Inlay, Terry, Extra Warp.
