GalaCollider is a multiplayer iOS kickstarter project I was asked to contribute some design language too, helping develop the products front end design and interaction design.

The initial brief asked for some conceptual design which would show how the user might navigate this complex system. My solution was to limit the amount of things onscreen by scrolling through various levels of 'zoom' creating a much more approachable first time experience with this Layered Functionality.
Interaction Concept
 
These Motion Tests show the interface moving between the three different states. The first state is the system 'Overview', giving the user info on all planets and enemy positions throughout the starfeild, Secondly is 'Command', the intermediate view giving a close up look on planets and the units deployed to them as well as the resources available, finally the 'Battle' view provides both on its surface & its orbit.
 
As usual, youll see these renderes are straight out of cinema 4d's hardware renderer, Ive become very fond of using this to show clients early animation tests, animatics, and layout for pretty much everything I work on these days. There is two main reasons for doing this, the first is that its fast, really fucking fast... secondly and most importantly, it gives clients a big picture sense of whats happening. all rough animation and elements are accounted for and visualized with very basic geo/splines. leaving them with the piece of mind to allow me to move forward into look dev. 
Visual Direction
 
The other request from the client brief was to explore with the visual direction for the overall game UI, providing some key imagery that will help guide the games development and ultimately the direction of the Kickstarter.
