This was a really fun commissioned portrait piece for someone who reached out through Facebook. We went through several source photos, and we decided this one was the best based on the lighting and contrast in the photo.
 
I spent a lot of time blocking out different tonal regions on the face before drawing the mesh. I find that doing this allows the face to still look natural while still giving the overall image that cool, fragmented polygon effect.
 
Final background chosen was orange, but the gray and turquoise options also made the earth tones and oranges in the face pop.
