WPAP - Pop Art Project

Research
What is Pop Art?
Started in 1950’s but came popular in 1960’s due to the advancements in technology and with pop art music becoming quite popular it gave it a huge kick that it needed.

Look at pop artists, Describe how they produce the imagery (Kept details to make it recognisable).
Andy Warhol – He uses different colours and a lot of different shades to make the pictures look 3d. He has used a lot of different images and changed the colours to define the shadows.

Roy Lichtenstein –Uses simple colours to show where the darker shades of the image would be, causing it to be highlighted and easier on the eyes. Cuts up things to provide simpler shapes.

What details have they included?
Simple lines to make up the outline of the figures, or no lines at all to give it a very pop arty feel.

What have they left out?
Haven’t included lots of bold lines, left it to the colours to show the shapes of the people or animals.

Procedure
I started by loading up photoshop and getting use to the pen tool, so I knew how to start and create lines without causing a massive problem on the screen. After I had finished getting use to the pen tool I started to work on my picture to create a WPAP of it. I used this picture and increased the size of it a little.

Evaluation
I think to improve I could’ve worked harder towards getting a pop arty feel, looking at how other people had done theirs and improved my accordingly. I feel as my piece didn’t go as well this time because I didn’t fully understand the concept and how to construct the correct shapes to give it a realistic look, so to improve this I could have done a lot more research into pop art and WPAP then started my task instead of just jumping straight into it.
