In India, wrestling takes place in a clay or dirt pit. The soil is mixed with ghee, other things and is tended to before each practice. Appliing mud /dirt on body is one of the important activity for each wrestler to avoid sweat. Traditional Indian wrestling which is known as a “Kushti” isn’t just a sport – it’s an ancient culture of life where wrestlers live & train together and follow strict rules on everything from what they can eat to what they can do in their spare time. Drinking, smoking and even sex are off the limits and focus is on living a pure life, building strength and honing their wrestling skills and help people.
