UI/UX - Food Truck Locator App

Food Truck Locator App
Design Analysis Overview

Most existing Food Truck Locator Apps come with two major issues: lack of reliability and missing events calendar. A revised Food Truck Locator App would allow users to find individual food trucks and food truck events in and around an area of choice based on geographical location, cuisine, or a keyword search. Search results should be displayed in a list or map format. Filters can help users narrow down search results to their specific personal choices. If the user finds a particular event or truck interesting, he or she should be able to mark it as a favorited item and be able to reference this listing easily again. To limit the scope of the design, the app will only designate trucks and events within the United States.
Product Behavior and Patterns
The Food Truck Locator app strictly takes on a smartphone and handheld posture. In this case, we must think about providing information and functionalities with ease while protecting the customers' needs, wants, and values. Key features include (1) searching by zip code, city/state, intersection, address, and keywords (2) filtering by price range, distance from central point, cuisine type, etc. (3) saving a truck in a favorites folder to be accessed at a later date and time.
Framework
The framework of the app is described below, which includes elements, heirarchy, postures, input/output, and factors.
Key Path Scenario
Path scenarios should be very simple and straightforward as there are only two main elements: a map and a list of results for individual food trucks or a food truck events. The navigation should allow toggling from one view to the other. Selecting a particular truck or event from the list or map leads the user into a details subdivision. The filter tool expands or contracts the list of results by an individual's criteria. The favorites section allows one to access bookmarked trucks. Finally, the about section helps users with any issues pertaining to the app. The diagram below illustrates a typical key path scenario.
Validation Scenarios
The following are initial layout sketches of design features and components of each of the screens. The pages accommodate for a food truck list view, map view, food truck events, favorites, about, and details of each food truck.

Brainstorming and Markups

Final Wireframes
These wireframes illustrate the navigation, flow, and functionalities of all pages for transient and sovereign users. Each subpage details an overview, menu items and prices, contact information, and reviews of a particular food truck.
